Individual Therapy

"When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid."

Audre Lorde

THE OVERVIEW

What is individual therapy?

Individual therapy is a dedicated and confidential space to work through what's been weighing on you — without having to manage anyone else's needs in the process. I offer trauma-informed individual therapy in Brooklyn and online across New York State, drawing from EMDR, IFS, and other experiential and depth-oriented approaches to help you understand the patterns keeping you stuck and build a steadier relationship with yourself and the people around you.

Who it’s for:

Individual therapy with me is a good fit for adults who want a dedicated weekly space to work towards their goals.

Common reasons clients come to me include:

  • Persistent anxiety and panic attacks

  • A harsh inner critic or self-doubt

  • Trauma and C-PTSD symptoms

  • Difficulty trusting others or feeling safe in relationships

  • People-pleasing, perfectionism, or fear of disappointing others

  • Navigating identity, culture, or family dynamics

  • Major depressive disorder

THE PROCESS

What to expect:

Our work together will be personalized to your needs and goals. We’ll draw from different therapeutic approaches—including EMDR, IFS, ISTDP, and other evidence-based practices—to support the work we’re doing together. Some sessions may focus on understanding your past, while others may center on navigating current relationships, processing emotions, building boundaries, or working through repeated emotional patterns.

Therapy is a process, and progress doesn’t always happen in a straight line. We’ll regularly check in about how things are feeling, what is and isn’t working, and where you’d like to focus next.

MODALITIES

My Therapeutic Approaches

I draw from evidence-based approaches with a trauma-informed lens. Having a diverse background helps me adapt to what you need in a given moment, whether that’s processing a specific memory, understanding a pattern that keeps repeating, or learning to regulate your nervous system. Here are the main therapeutic models I study and draw from:
